Sulochana Sethi
Sulochana Sethi, Chairperson & President. Born in Lumbwa and grew up in Kisumu, Kenya. Studied in Kisumu girl’s high school and Convent of Jesus & Mary in Dehra Dun. Sulochana is a very active community worker, who has lived in Harrow since 1972. She continues to serve and be an active member of many cultural organisations including the Arya Samaj, International Lions, Sachkand Nanak Dham and till recently the Sardar Patel Society of London. She is one of the founder members of Vedicca London, promoting Vedic culture and values. She is always finding opportunities to bring communities together by providing many services for the health and wellbeing of all. She is an active member of a global spiritual organisation that promotes love, peace and unity on earth.
Sangeeta Bhandari
Sangeeta Bhandari, Volunteer and Yoga therapist. A yoga educator and therapist, fully certified, her experience spans over a decade teaching in Hong Kong, Mumbai, Ireland, France and London. A Masters’ graduate from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), having found her calling later in life as a yoga instructor, Sangeeta teaches in the lineage of Krishnamacharya, known as the father of modern yoga. She firmly believes the gift of yoga is for all along any path, and her role as the sharer of this knowledge, is to ensure it is accessible to everyone. Sangeeta is a champion for MIND of Harrow, works with various charities, corporates offering stress management workshops and sessions, individuals in groups or for therapy sessions 1-2-1, and has done a lot of work with cancer survivors, adults with mental health issues, diabetes, pregnancy yoga and more.
Kanta Shah
Kanta Shah, Joint Secretary. Kanta enjoys her retirement spending time with her grandchildren, meeting new people and reading. To acknowledge her long volunteering service with Harrow Mind, she was invited to attend the Volunteers’ Service Reception at Buckingham Palace in 2016. Kanta was born and brought up in Mombasa, taught high school children there before moving to the UK in 1971 where she worked as Post Office Branch Manager for 36 years.
